Slash In American Idol

Ex-Guns And Roses guitarist and current Velvet Revolvers frontman Slash revealed on his twitter account that American Idol has asked him to guide the remaining contestant out as part of "Rock Week". On his Twitter, he wrote "American Idol has asked me to do the mentor bit for Rock Week." Not many information available at this time, but if you are a fan of Slash be sure to watch American Idol next week.

In other news, Slash in his MySpace wrote he has a hard time working in the studio album for his upcoming solo album. "Anyway, hard at work in the studio, we are 6 tracks into it & it sounds really great, great playing & super killer tones, not to mention stellar vocals so far. I'm still not at liberty to publically divulge any singer's names, but trust me, they're amazing. I know a lot of you out there know who at least some of them are. ''

"I will however, give you working titles for a couple songs; "we're all gonna die" is one, "These last words" is another. There is one song called "Crucify the dead" & another called "Beautiful, dangerous. We have about 8 songs left to record & I'm really excited about every one."

Slash has recruited ex-Nine Inch Nail drummer Josh Freese and former Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney to play on the record, for vokal two artist were confirmed to appear on Slash's record, they are Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows and living legend, Ozzy Osbourne.
As many of we know, Slash is an animal lover. He claimed that he actually feeds one of his snake Sam a human flesh, the remaining of the meal is shown in the pictures below.Don't believe it? Ripley's believe it or not.Haha, obviously, he is just joking.
LOL!

Warmen's New Album

After nearly 5 years waiting, Warmen finally informed their forth album release date. The album title is "Japanese Hospitality" and will be released on August 24 via Spine Farm record. If you aren't familiar with this amazing band, then here is a quick information of them. Warmen is a side project of Children Of Bodom keyboardist, Janne Wirman. Some of his composed songs actually doesn't fit into Children Of Bodom's style of music, to express his composition, he then formed a side project called Warmen in 2000. Their first album is 'Unknown Soldier', produced back in 2000 and the last album is 'Accept The Fact', released in 2005.

This forth album, according to Blabbermouth.net, will include eight song effort and two cover versions — "Separate Ways" by JOURNEY, and "Black Cat" by JANET JACKSON, featuring a guest appearance by the Finnish pop/rock queen Jonna Kosonen. Other guest musicians that appear on the CD include Alexi Laiho (CHILDREN OF BODOM) and Pasi Rantanen (ex-THUNDERSTONE).

Warmen revealed that the album would be heavier than the band's previous output, with more aggressive guitar riffs. There will be just two instrumental tracks, and every song has a different singer. The next
WARMEN album will be the group's strongest effort to date because it has "the best songs, best vocalists and the best sounds." Warmen's third full-length album, "Accept the Fact", was released in July 2005 via Spinefarm Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Beyond Abilities" included guest appearances by CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho and STRATOVARIUS Timo Kotipelto. "Japanese Hospitality" will be preceded by a brand new compilation, rounding up the best of the keyboardist's solo work to date.

According to their MySpace, Warmen lineup 2009 are:

Janne Warman (Children Of Bodom) - keyboards
Antti Warman (The Scourger) - guitars
Mirka Rantanen (Thunderstone) - drums
Jyri Helko (For The Imperium) - bass

Alexi Laiho Gay?

Is Alexi Laiho gay? I've checked the internet but don't found any of his statements denying it. I hope Alexi himself read this post and make his strong stand about the scandal.Until now I still want to believe that he is actually a straight guy and all the pictures circulated in the internet are just for fun.

I remembered reading an article few years back that Alexi had married a woman named Kimberly Goss. She is a founder of band called Synergy, where Alexi Laiho also a member of it.(It is been a long time since Synergy released their last album, hope to hear from them soon).

People may think the scandal is not a big issue. You may think that you just listened to their songs, not following their lifestyle. You will not become a gay person for just listening to Children Of Bodom songs! If that is what you are thinking, I actually agree with you. Other people may think differently, well everybody has their own thought right?

Iron Maiden New Studio Album

Iron Maiden will enter the studio to record their next album this year. This legendary and most successful British heavy metal band will start working with their new materials and hope to have a new album out and be back on tour in 2010.

Guitarist Adrian Smith told BANG showbiz: "At the end of the year we'll be writing again, rehearsing and recording at the beginning of next year. Then we'll be back out on the road again next year. Kevin Shirley will be working on it with us and we'll probably be doing it somewhere where we've done a lot for recording in the past."

This upcoming album will be the Iron Maiden's fifteenth studio record, and they face a challenge to follow up their last material, 2006s 'A Matter of Life and Death' which was received well critically and saw the band tour playing the whole album.

Speaking at the premiere of the band's documentary film 'Iron Maiden: Flight666', Adrian added: "There's always a bit of pressure to follow up the last album, in a way it's good because it motivates you.

"We never get complacent; we always try our best for our own sake as much as anything else. As far as pressure for another album, we just do what we do - we've been doing it long enough now, we know what we are doing."

Tony Fredianelli on Tour with Third Eye Blind Preps Solo Project

Third Eye Blind is on tour in support of its EP Red Star, released December, 2008, online only. The EP includes the track "Non Dairy Creamer," currently airing on 17 Alt-Indie radio stations. "This song is off the EP and we did not push or press and it blew up on its own. That to me is amazing,” explains 3EB guitarist Tony Fredianelli. “We must be doing something right, we have really solid music. The new album coming is some of our best work.” Fredianelli's referring to an album tentatively titled Ursa Major that's set for release later this year.

Fredianelli is a Mike Varney discovery. Varney signed the guitarist to his Shrapnel Records label when Fredianelli was 16 after hearing a demo tape. Fredianelli was a member of the speed metal, neo-classical band Apocrypha with whom he recorded three albums, the first two of which were produced by former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman, with Fredianelli producing the third. In 1992, Varney introduced Fredianelli to a then unknown singer, Stephen Jenkins, and he was asked to join the band Third Eye Blind.

Also scheduled for release later this year is a solo project from Fredianelli. “Before I joined 3EB I was a solo artist. I started playing at 14 and really excelled at guitar. I want to go back to my roots and create some of that shredding guitar that started my career,” says Fredianelli.

Megadeth Posts New Album Update

Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has checked in with an update on the bands forthcoming new album which is expected to be released by September. It reads as follows: "Droogies!

"This week has been fantastic! Andy Sneap is back at the helm in Vic’s Garage and it is such a natural thing to see Andy here with me, that I am thinking of trying to find him an American super-model that will marry him and spend the rest of their lives in San Diego make records for me and making whoppee for Android!

"Seriously though, I love working with Andy. I have had some greats over the years, and Andy is one of them. We have been making some serious soulful and aggressive vocal performances.

"Now, Let me tell you about Chris Broderick’s soloing!

"This guy is like Tony Montana. I have never ever heard a guitar player this good. Sorry Marty, I try to keep you in the fans memory, but they are going to have a hard time once they hear Chris. I mean we all worked hard to get Chris to where he is right now, but nothing that I could have done, and I mean very little, if not zero was contributed by me. Chris is a genius, a virtuoso, a master, and I am the proudest I have ever been in my musical life right now.

"Even Justis said, “He stomps Marty Friedman dad.” What a blessing to have such a cool son!!!

"I have to get going, I have a crazy day today again. I need to finish the song I was singing yesterday called, "This Day We Fight." This was influenced by the Lord of the Rings. I am also in the middle of finishing up a lyric this morning called tentatively, 'How The Movie Ends'. We’ll see if the title sticks by the time the disc is finished.

"Have a great day, I hope you have had a terrific Easter break so far, and I really want to thank everyone here that calls me over at TheLIVEline.com. I feel so close to you hearing your messages, and don’t be shy, it’s free, so you can call me as much as you want.

"Well, I have to go wash the metal shavings out of my hair from Chris’ shredding it up last night.

"Mustaine sez, Goodbye Droogies!"

Metalasia

Metalasia is a Progressive Heavy Metal band from Malaysia formed in 1997. The current line-up consist of King Shah and Ritz(Tawau) as Guitarists, Sam Maya on drum, Zen as a bassist and Muix as a vocalist (Past member - CD Khanzab - Vocals, Guitars). They took Malay epic/nature/life as their lyrical theme, which is considered rare in Malaysia and this is why they are much different from other metal bands found in Malaysia. The higher technical difficulties of guitar riffs has made them known as the best metal band ever produced by Malaysian. If you listen carefully to the guitar melody, you'll actually find the sound has a similiarities to the U.S legendary band called Cacophony (Line-up are double lead guitar Gods, Marty Friedman and Jason Becker).

They have produced two albums and one live CD so far. The very first album was produced back in 1997, entitled Khalifah Alam Maya. Second album is Silantra...Bermulanya Sebuah Epik, published in 2002 and their live CD's, Live at Metal Wars were produced in 1999.

Metalasia were one of the bands who were nominated for "Best Hard Rock Album" in the Malaysian Music Industry Awards. Also, they were one of a few Malaysian Thrash Metal bands who ever toured to Japan and Korea. They also had coperated with Malaysian popqueen Ning Baizura to record a song called Puspasari Penawar Puteri.

Guns N’ Roses New Guitarist

Axl Rose is always been forced finding new guitarist since the departure of founding members Slash and Izzy Stradlin in the ‘90s. Guitarists that have been worked with Axl Rose in the past, to mention some, Buckethead, Robin Finck and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal. So when the band announced that they had recruited DJ Ashba for their forthcoming tour, it was hard not to be a bit cynical. Ashba’s their guitarist today but GnR will surely change their line up sooner.

Ashba about Guns & Roses:
“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of a band that I have always loved and respected,” Ashba said. “I’m looking forward to working with Axl Rose, who is not only one of the few great frontmen of our generation, but a true artist.”

As of now, there hasn’t been any official news about a summer tour, although rumors abound that it’s definitely happening.
